I have used Melafix in the past in a low-tech tank and had no problems. I used Melafix & Pimafix once more recently to "help" with some damage from fin nipping and lost a LOT of livestock. Both are in a landfill somewhere now.

I've used it and yes, it did work.

One little problem that I ran into with Melafix + Pimafix in combo is that it tends to lower the O2 level in your tank. When treating daily with it I would strongly recommend adding an air stone. I lost a couple of rather nice Pseudancistrus to that combo.

I've used it several times, but it does tend to make the water nasty. I try at all costs to avoid treating in my main tanks and use an isolation tank instead, along with daily water changes and salt if it's a fish that can tolerate it.

I've used it, but honestly I don't know if it did anything that clean water wouldn't have done on its own.
