Algae Grower
|
Oto catfish spawning! Need advice.
HI, Wed., I picked up four Otocinclus and put them in a 10 gallon quarantine tank with some plants. Over this weekend I saw them doing their mating ritual, and now, Sun. 6/10 there are eggs on plants and tanks sides.
I have read that eggs can hatch between 3 and 5 days, but I was wondering if anyone knows of specific ways to feed and take care of any Oto fry that might hatch. All info is appreciated! |

Planted Tank Obsessed

I think they want algae, does your tank have algae? Also feed them algae disks. Make sure your filter intake has a screen or sponge over it so they don't get sucked in.
Otherwise, turn your lights on 16 hrs per day to grow more algae. And just watch them. Will you be selling them? I like otos and one of mine looks to be with eggs, but no egg laying yet.
