Not familiar with them but I got a hold on some links you may try to read.
The Pingi Logsucker - Garra pingi pingi
PetSolutions - Garra pingi pingi
Garra pingi pingi

The informations are mostly inadequate but that was because they are still rarely seen or even heard by most aquarists including me(I must admit ).

If you managed to get a hold on them, pls do let us know how your experience goes.

We sold more than a few for algae control in garden ponds last year, non-descript fish really, different though.

They will gnaw your arm hair off.
Well, not quite but they do remove dead skin effectively and some places have them in pools and have folks sit in to get cleaned up.
They will hop right on and "mow you".
I think they do well for algae and other grubbing about.

There's a panda color version also, cute fish.
Tough easy to keep etc also

Regards,
Tom Barr

Active fish that really likes to chase each other around (no harm is done from what I've seen). Just give them enough space for their active chasing and you're fine. Keeping four of them in my 90 right now.

They're great algae eaters for what it's worth and I'm trying to locate some of the panda variety at the moment.

Being kept alone isn't an issue and it might be more relaxing with one since they won't be chasing each other around.

Never tried one with a goldfish before, so can't say. Mine are with angelfish and I have yet to see one go after the slime coating on those. However, goldfish produce a thicker slime coating than most fish.

ok I'm bringing this thread back from the dead! So I bought myself a Garra Pingi Pingi today at the LFS. What a hand full! I have yet to see him settle down and my girlfriend called me at work cause he was trying to jump into the filter (top hanging). I got home, couldn't find him at first...upon closer inspection he was in fact in the filter body behind the carbon pouch.

I have to say I'm a little scared with what I'm reading about them. Some say they are cold water only and attack goldfish, others say they are great for the tropical setup and are non threatening. I'll let ya know what happens.

Are they really Garra pingi pingi or Garra flavatra?
