missing: one frog

i haven't seen my african claw frog in a couple days. he's usually pretty active, especially during feedings. i have searched all over my house for this bugger with no luck. any ideas? do they go dormant?

before I was more vigilant about covering my wires/tubing one got out and crawled under a cabinet about 10' away from my tank, dehydrated and died. they basically wiggle into a tight spot in hopes of maintaining their hydrating as long as possible, so you probably won't find his body unless you move a lot of heavy furniture around. also check under radiators, radiant heat panels, piles of plastic clutter, pretty much anywhere they can get under cover. If you don't like covering your tank, at least get the plastic backstrip most glass canopies come with, and cut it out barely large enough for your tubes/wires to pass through. I also keep the water about 1" under the rim when I refill the tank, and keep power-heads and other potential perches from being at the waterline. If it's been a few days, he's long dead and his body will just dry up, so don't worry about any odor; you'll just stumble over his mummified corpse eventually.

A coworker of mine had the same problem, despite a very tight-fitting lid. We've searched everywhere, even behind heavy furnature. I'm pretty much stumped.
