Fish That Treats Human Skin Conditions

Saw these fish on a holiday program late 1 night(couldn't Sleep).

Cant remember what they were caled or where they were.

A Natural Hot Spring somewhere either in Pakistan or the Middle East.
It has a Temple built around it.

Program showed hundreds of people queing to be treated by these fish(Excema,Scoriosis etc). I think they were a kind of loricadae?.
People were sitting in the hot springs and the fish were all over them eating eating away the bad skin. From what the guide was saying these fish secrete a film on the skin as they eat and it treats the skin condition to an extent that 1 visit is enough and the Skin Condition Never Comes back.

Then they showed people eating them alive wrapped in a "Parshaad" (Asain Communion). said to cure alot of ailments.

Just thought it was interesting.

Yep thats right there were people in the spring and inside the temple they were queued waiting to be given the fish.

Man Wrapped the fish in the Parshaad and placed it @ the back of the throa t and held the persons mouth shut untill they swallowed it.

That's...interesting...I bet it would be a spine-tingling experience with all of those little fish eating away your decaying flesh.

Smile Fish Medicine in India

This sounds similar to one of the things that is famous in one part of India. However, I have never heard about the fish eating the skin part. Please read the below article and you will know what I am talking about. If you do a google search for "fish medicine in India", you would find hundreds of articles.

An informative article on fish therapy for asthama patients as practiced by the Goud family

I'm not sure I could deal with that unless the skin condition was just that serious. I don't even like the SAE nibbling on my arm when I'm aquascaping, LOL.

I'd rather have a fish nibble at my skin then maggots!
