Fish rubbing..?

I know this has proberly been asked a hell of alot.

let me just say hello and i hope everyone and there freshwater criters are doing good

now.. i havent been on for along time, and i consider myself pretty experienced, my stepdad i find knows more than he... knows.

but ill go for my problem first, im treating them both seperate because im very acustom to my fish and tank and the standard of it i also feel is exceptional to anything ive ever seen at face.. i dont want to try and compete with you guys, amano etc lol, but any fishshop ive been to or any tank ive seen for real has ever been close..

one of my veteran SAE's always flicks... well it used to be occasional and i think she gets a little stressed with me moving about in my room all the time..

but yesterday, i noticed a little red mark on her fin.. lookedlike blood but it seems to have gone today.

anyway, i was just wondering what you guys think it is and what i should do?

its not whitespot, its got to be something but it doesent seem to affect her, shes done it for a long time but if i could cure her i would like to.

shes exceptionaly healthy from what i gather, and i cannot or have never seen anything around her gills, never been red or sore.

she shoots around and can knock herself, the cant really hurt herself but the substrate could rough her up a bit..

ide like to know your thoughts, none of the other fish have ever done this and as ive blurted out,, there all very very healthy, i dont test because theres no point ide proberly guess the readings correctly

ive posted a seperate post also.

cheers chaps in advance

jay

ok, this is just a guess, I have seen my endlers rub against the substrate a lot, I believe it is when they are giving birth, is it possible that it is some sort of spawning behavior?

If the fish is rubbing itself against something, that usually means something externally is iritating it. Fish do have itchiness, but if they constantly do this, then it could be an external parasite.

Livebearers (Endlers, guppies, molllies, etc.) don't rub against something when they release their fry. They usually just try to hide in a corner so they don't get disturbed and release their fry.
