I've just finished planting my 55g tank and I'm thinking of adding more fish. The main reason I started this tank was
to house 2 adult angels who where getting too large for the 25g nonplanted tank that they were in. I'm thinking
of moving the angels in last after all the new fish get used to the tank. I would like to have some schooling fish but
the problem is that the only tankmate the two angels ever had was a clown loach and I'm afraid that they would
go eating any fish small enough to eat. Right now I have 6 ottos and a clown loach in the tank and am planning to
get some corys soon. I was leaning towards getting some rummy nose tetras I saw at a LFS but I'm not sure if they
can make it. I think getting one or two more angels aint a bad idea either. Any suggestons?
Thanks

I keep Glow Light Tetra's and Lemon Tetra's with Angels and havent had any problems....

Rummynose tetra's are pretty fast.. I think they'd be fine

I think a good sized school Of Marble Hatchets would be cool, like get 15 of them! That would be cool in a planted tank.

Nothing like a pair of Festivums to grace the presents of angels.

My wife keeps asking me when I am going to keep Festivums again. I had some in college when I had a bigger tank (odd thing to say I know) and she really liked their personality. I told her I'd consider it when I have the time to replace the 30 gal. tanks with a pair of 120's.

She teases me by asking if I have enough plants to aquascape a tank that big when she knows I have more than enough. My answer to her

It's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore looking like an idiot.

That IS an aquascape, it's titled "The Vacant Lot".

i keep a male and female betta with my angels. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

if the angels ignore the females, they'll probably ignore the male betta too. but the male betta MIGHT get nippy.

i kept a mated pair of angels with an (unmated) pair of bettas for several years. but one of the angels passed on and his replacement--who was fine as a little one--is now starting to harass the bettas.

i think bettas/angels are really dependent on the individual personalities of the fishies involved. i suspect your angels won't care about the new guy, but the new guy might be a problem. he might also rough up the females, but they should have plenty of hiding spots in a planted tank.

i'd say go for it, but watch them because angels as well as bettas can go bad!

do the angels spawn? if they do, they might beat up everyone (or ignore everyone, like mine did).

Ta, my angels are still juvenile, (4 to 5 months). They only bump each other a bit when I don't put in enough food to their liking, and the Black skirt tetras steals it all hahaha.
