Where to place Purigen in Eheim filters?

I have two 2236's and a 2217. So the water flow looks like the following:

aquarium water --> mechs (only in the 2217) --> coarse pad --> substrate pro --> fine pad --> back to aquarium

Where should I place a bag of Purigen??? Thanks in advance.

I believe it should be placed on top (last media) after the fine pad.

I always put mine near the top of filters for easy access. I usually have it sandwiched around/between fine pads & filter floss.

Top for sure. All the big stuff has already been filtered out.
