Random Branded Filter

Anybody seen/heard of or even used one of these?

Trying to do my latest tank on a budget but want to go external this time, and require at least 1200lph flow rate.

Ebay link - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EXTERNAL-FILTE...#ht_1607wt_941

It looks pretty decent. I'd check the seller feed/back rating though. Also, take note that it ships to mainland UK only, so I'm not sure where N. Yorks is in the UK.

Lol we're mainland. It's only the little islands that don't get counted as mainland. The seller's feedback is good, but I can't find any feedback relating to the filters in their history.

These are copies of brand name filters. You can find very similar ones under different brands, like Jebo or Jebao or ViaAqua/Commodity Axis or Catalina or Odyssea. There are many discussions, questions, and even reviews on this site.

Their flow is most likely way overstated (measured with an empty filter and then generously rounded up).

Besides that, you can get lucky and get a well functioning filter for very little money, or you can be not so lucky and it will start leaking or rattling in no time. A bit of a gamble.

Hmmm that's not very good then. Just really struggling to keep the budget down, and this is one area where the budget is hit hard if you stick with the likes of Eheim/Fluval etc.

I can't tell exactly, but it looks like a Jebo/Odyssea. Definitely not a brand you want to go with.
