Eheim 2250 v. 2217
Everyone:
I just bought a custom 75 gallon tank and the LFS that built the tank says I should use 2 2250's, not 2 2217's. He says the 2217's have flimsy clips and they are a pain to maintain, go with the 2250's. Money is not an issue, but is this an overkill. Don't want to spend unnecessary money. Thanks |

I don't think you need THAT much filtration. Overkill it isn't, unnecesary spent money it is. And besides, if you won't to spend a lot, buy yourself an eheim 3E, which is one hell of a filter. I have never owned one, but I dream about it

Food for thought. The 2217's come with quick disconnects and media. The 2250 and 2260's do not come with either. I have a 2260 and absolutely love it, but, in this case I would also opt for the pair of 2217's.
You could mix it up and do a 2250 and a 2217.
