Check Valves are from www.aquatic-store.com
Dennerle Check Valve - $ 17.99 A very high-quality German CO2 check valve for freshwater or marine applications. Secure compression fittings which takes 4/6 mm (ID/OD) or 1/8" airline tubing KBCV co2 Dennerle Check Valve Weight: 1.00 Metallic Check Valve - $ 38.99 These are the highest quality industrial-grade Brass Check Valve from German Air Pressure Systems. They are heavy-duty enough for food-grade liquid as well. Just like you, we also thought that these were unnecessarily overkill for aquaristic purposes, but it has been proven that these are the ONLY qualified Check Valves for protecting your expensive CO2 equipment (Regulator & Cylinders) from saltwater with a pressurized Kalkreaktor pushing it backward vigorously. Secure compression fittings which take 4/6 mm (ID/OD) or 1/8" airline tubing KBCV met check valve Weight: 6.00 Anyone hear about these or know if they are good check valves for Co2 Tanks? I like the first ones price, but dont know if its a good one or if the C02 will go thru it overtime. Thanks

I tried ordering the metallic one and it was out of stock. Marcus sent me two dennerle's and I do have to say they are excellent quality for check valves. I have turned off the solenoid and not noticed any backflow (not sure there was any at all since I have black co2 tubing) that came into the bubble counter. Solid construction on the dennerle's, they have plastic locking nuts on the ends where the tubes connect into.

Does anyone else have expereince with the Dennerle Check Valve and how long have you used it without any problems?
How many Check Valves do you need to protect your regulator, tank, etc? Thanks

I will be using a Ph controller
So I will need a check vlave so it does not run water back into my regulator or tank. I am using the Milwaukee ALl Ine One Regulator with a 20 lb tank. I am going to go to Mexico for a month and have my parents feed the fish during my time away and other than feeding they are not good with fish, so I need to make sure nothin like water going into my regulator or anything will happen. Since the Co2 will be turned on and off with a PH controller it is important I get a good check valve. Will any of these 2 work well for me and how many do you recommend getting?

You should only need one valve, in line from the regulator to the reactor. I suggest placing it as close to the reactor as possible. Yes both are good valves...
That is a long time to leave a tank... I hope you dont have any unpleasant suprises when you get home... Jason
