Co2 manifold and filter for a 20 long

I have a 20 gallon long that I am trying to redo. I have a 29 gallon tank on the bottom rack of it which I use a co2 tank for. But I like to split the co2 so I can feed the 20 long. I don't know much about mainfolds but how should I do this? How should I split the co2, by maifold or by needle valves?

Also I am planing on getting a tom's mini canister filter for the 20 long. I don't have much space so I can't get a full sized canster filter for this one. Do u think its sufficent for it? Or can I split my XP2 from the bottom tank to this one? Is that possible?

The toms may work I have no experience with it. I wouldn't try and run 1 canister for both tanks by splitting the Xp as if on clogged the romm may become really wet! Also for your CO2 I would contact Rex Griggs and get a manifold and extra needle valve so you can split your line and have a needle valve on both tanks for precise measurements for both tank. You may have to bump up your working pressure some also for this to work.

I haven't read anything good about that Tom's filter.

Would you have room to use an AquaClear filter like the AC 50 or AC 70?

Here's the link to Rex's site for CO2 products.

The tom's filter certainly won't work for a 20 gallon long tank.

The Aquaclear filters are super.

Hope this helps ya out, "doctor".

Well I'm tired of overhead filters so I was hoping I can use a canister filter for this one. Perhaps I'll use it for my 10 gal. Is there some kind of small canister filter I can use to hang on the back of my tank.

Thanks for the rex page but I have zero knowlege on how what parts to get for a manifold. I was hoping for something inline.

I good manifold should be attached directly to your solenoid.
Kinda like this..Solenoid-2 bubble counters with needle valves attached- and then your lines of co2 tubing.

An XP1 or Eheim 2213 would be ideal for your application.

Canister filters do not hang on the back of the tank, unless you are refering to Magnum H.O.T.'s.

You can contact him and he should be able to help you. Here's the contact Rex link: http://www.rexgrigg.com/contact.html

Orlando has some pictures of various ways to split the CO2. Here's the Contact info: http://www.greenleafaquariums.com/contact-us.html

Nah I can't. Like I said before, I'm out of space so I can't use those. http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/prod...9ndHo/8ZlxEOs_

It says the upper limit is 20 gallons.

Is a inline mainifold less efficent?

You can't always believe what you read. Being a doctor, I'd expect you to know that

Read the reviews about them. Make your own decision.

The AC line of HOB filters work much like a canister filter. It's what I'd recommend.

I'm not a doctor. But I play one on TV. lol Thanks for the rolling eyes I feel much more confident now.

Anyway has anyone else tried this mini canister filter on tanks larger than 10 gallons or any other mini canister filters.

There are numerous threads on the subject, mostly negative reviews from what I've read.

I think the 501 may be a better option than the Tom's

I've used a 501 and it was not sufficient for a 10 gallon tank.

A in-line manifold will work just fine. You will need two needle valves to use it in-line however.
