Default Help with setting up diffuser (pics)

I am trying to set up this diffuser

to be inline with this pump.

This is going in the back of a 24 gallon AquaPod. The filter is built into the back section of the tank, so no canister. It's a little tight, but i can fit it in there, with the right adapters. the ones that came with the diffuser are too small. Any ideas? Thanks for the help!
(sorry about the pic quality, it was a race to beat dying batteries. )

i have a similar reactor. i found that it was not efficient. i was not able to get my co2 levels high enough in my 20gal. i did the tom barr venturi modification. i was injecting so much co2 (maybe 3 - 5 bubbles per sec) that by day's end, the powerhead would air lock. had algae problems due to the inconsistent co2 levels.

now i just inject co2 into my powerhead's venturi at the same bps. drop checker is green at lights on (1.5 hour after co2). no algae except for light gsa on glass/anubias. one less piece of equipment in the tank.
but you have to be able to tolerate the mist flying around the tank and the pfft pfft pftt of the impeller hitting the bubbles.

Thanks for the reply milesm.

Hmmm... I already am running my co2 through my impeller. I'm not a huge fan of the mist of bubbles, and I thought a diffuser might be more effective at raising co2 levels with less gas used. Is there any way to make this diffuser more efficient? This is the same model sold on the Aqua Botanic website, so I figured it would be pretty decent.

Would it work better with a separate power head, like stated on the website?

my reactor is different from yours. mine does not have the diffuser. co2 is just fed from the top and it has 3 bioballs in the body.

anyway, you can do the tom barr venturi modification. do a search on his site www.barreport.com for "internal co2 reactor". but this mod will increase misting so it may not appeal to you.

i used a dedicated powerhead attached directly to the reactor. it was a 200l/h powerhead. gave good flow in my 20h, but was not dissolving/misting enough co2 for the tank.

i think this reactor would be good for a 10 gal tank, with a slower flow through, but it would take up too much space in a tank that size.

Maybe if you had your CO2 going through your impeller, but attach the reactor to the output.
