Sorry if this has already been covered many times up here, but I used the search and never really came up with what I was looking for.

I currently have two of the hagen systems installed on my 55 gallon (I'm thinking about adding a 3rd). Since these don't come with co2 check valves I'm going to try to find a few of em. Right now I haven't had much luck finding anything decent under $35 or so. Since I'm goign to need 2 or 3 of these I would like to find them cheaper. Anybody have any suggestions where to find a good, but cheaper co2 check valve? Thanks.

Just use the regular air pump checkvalves (not the metal one). They are only a buck a piece. If you want to save money, why don't you just use the 2L bottle for the DIY CO2. I mean, if you buy 3 Hagen, you might as well add a little more to get the pressurize system. I use two 2L bottles for my 55gl.

yes, buy a normal check valve for $1.50. when the CO2 eventually destroys it in a year or two, replace it for another $1.50.

If you hang the Hagen canister on the tank with the hanger that comes with the system, there is no need for any check valve.

I would still use it even with HOB hagen. I didn't use it before until couple weeks ago. I unplug the tube from the hagen canister and the water in the line went straight up above the water line (because sudden change of pressure) and started the vacuum effect.

Thanks for the info fellas, I just went out and got some cheap-o plastic ones that I hope don't corrode too quickly, thanks again.
