Diy Co2

I have some questions about DIYCO. Right know I have the hadgen canister and the bubble counter. I had it in my 20 gallon but have since upgraded to a 29 gallon. By making the diyco2 can I use the hadgen bubble counter? Can you have the bottles lower than the tank? What is the best and easy way to make a diyco2 and how safe is this from making a mess? Sorry about all the questions.

Well, most of your questions have already been answered on this forum a dozen times, so I'll refer you to the search function for all the questions I don't answer.

It's find for the CO2 canisters to be below the aquarium, just put a check valve in there so it can't siphon tank water into the canister when it runs out.

Just want to make sure that I'v got this right. I got 2liter bottle, drilled hole in cap, put the tubing with a check valve. I got a diffuser to put at the other end. Now do I put this at the bottom of aquraium?

By "this" you don't mean the 2 liter bottle!? The diffuser is the only thing that goes in the aquarium...tell us what kind you have.

I meant the airstone diffuser. I tried this but it never worked very good. I drilled a hole into the intake tube and ran the tube into it. It seems to be much bettter.Alot of bubbles are comming out. How do you know if you have to many are not enough? I have been checking the pH and KH. they are pretty high.

What is your KH an pH? Use this chart to find your CO2. You're looking for 15-25 ppm.

I have just completed my second diy co2 system and made a website explaining how I did it. Here it is:

Hope this helps!
