Ideas for quick disconnect of 1/4" LDPE CO2 tubing?

The tubing is imprinted

1/4" OD x .170" ID POLY 048643-025585

I've traced it to being Low Density Polyethylene tubing.

It's rigid, milky white and supposedly good CO2 resistance.

I would like a mechanism to make quick disconnects inline in this tubing, because once it's on a barb, it's there forever, and I'd like to be able to disconnect my reactors from this tubing and take them away for maintenance. I could also use the disconnect joints around the check valves, for when I need to replace them periodically.

I found this, would it work? Looks like it even has a check valve built in.

Ideas, anyone?

I looked into doing this myself a couple of years ago. I found something which on first glance appeared to be the alternative to the aquarium quick disconnects.

Thing was, and is with these non-aquarium marketed products is that the interior diameter of the tubing is usually much smaller than the input diameter. Flow is really, really restricted and greatly reduced.

Something to be aware of.
