75G FISH TANK STAND- My first ever cabinet built (thread is a 56K killer)

What is retro about that stand? I feel like my tastes have been offended. It looks a lot like the stand I paid good money for (yours is a little nicer).

my grandmother owned some rental properties that had 30's vintage woodwork that looked very much like your stand. what is your decor like? if your apartment is more modern the contrast will look cool too. furthermore, the walnut will contrast very well with your bright green plants.

Oh, I'm sorry I forgot to reply- thanks for your comment. About the decor, you see, I have no furniture in the living room yet, cause we recently moved from a studio. I'll ry to match them with the stand. I have to find a good second hand furniture store here in New York
We're gonna hang our collection of african masks in the living room, so it will look nice with the tank I hope. The only problem with this room is that it's very dark, so I can't have many plants around the tank. But what I thought right now- since the catalina lights will be hanging from the ceiling, can I place two large plants on both sides of my stand? Do you think they're going to get some light from those T5s?

That's a lovely stand. The dark stain is great, and your documentation is good, too.

I bet you can grow plants in it. I have most of a garden-starter-kit (peppers, squash, cucumbers, marigolds) growing in the light spill from my tank + an Aerogarden.

Agreed. He makes my English skills shudder. I love this tank stand. I am going to try and copy this for my future tank. Of course, mine will end up looking like Homer's.

Thanks. I am truly suprised of your comments about my English. When I wrote about buliding my stand I thought " Oh my, I probably made so many mistakes that they're gonna say- your English sucks even more than your stand"
