I've been toying with building my own ADA style, rimless/frameless tank and have got to the point where I am getting quotes for glass. My question to anyone who has done this is, what kinds of things should I be watching out for?
The cost variation that I am seeing across 3 different sources is huge. There is a 65% difference between my low and high bids and I am wondering why. Glass is glass isn't it? The glass parameters were, as far as I could tell, the same. Annealed, not tempered, edges machine polished, 3/8" thick. |

you can get different kinds of glass which is probably why you are getting different prices.
it all depends on the iron content in the glass. more iron = cheaper. Some places you can order Starphire glass for the front panel, which is optically clear and has a very low iron content or you can do all 4 sides in starphire checkout glasscages.com |
