Hey guys, my uncle's a plumber and I was asking him about how much he pays for his cylinder and gas.
He said he pays 120$ rent a year, per cylinder. The cylinders look about 3ft long. Gas costs 50$ per refill. Would it be better to rent it like this, or go and buy one outright? Im in Aus by the way, so it'll cost me an arm and a leg to buy. Also, how long would a cylinder that large last me on a 30 gallon tank? |

A cylinder that large, if you are careful about leaks, should last you several years. A three foot high tank is either a 20lbs or a 50lbs. I've been running a 5lbs tank on a 30 gallon for several months now and it is still more than 90% full.
Rent the tank if you can. That way you don't have to worry about taking care of it.

All gas tanks come with the valve on top of the tank. You will need to get at least a regulator, a needle valve and some tubing. Everything else is, if you are a minimalist, dispensable.
