Algae Grower

ZeroChalk:
Looks fine. I too like the idea of moving all extra equipment and accessories out of sight. My first design featured a wall of sponge supported by egg-crate similar to your sketch. I am using a standpipe of the modified Durso type with no prefilter and 802 powerhead. With the sump bare the Zebra Danios started doing laps (in the overflow, down to sump, and netted back to tank.) Now I have a sponge filter on the powerhead, lots of plants in the sump growing well and a few very happy 'sump fish.' I am becoming convinced that a few snails make the nightly commute as well... Best of luck and let us know how the sump turns out! |
