Dosing for a 75g tank isnt for 75g of water, it is for an avrage 75g tank that includes substrate and stuff.

Yes, obviously. That's my point, the precision isn't necessary.

I by no means intend to discourage the working on something like this, just giving a viewpoint.

I have an Idea for accurate measurement.. It's a bit ridiculous but it'll give you an accurate measurement....

You measure the weight of everything minus the water.. Then measure the whole tank with water in it... Do some math, you get the weight of the water and then the volume in gallons.

Yes, the average person is not going to give a care. Actually, most people are not going to care. As for me, I do care, but that is probably just the engineering nature in me. Anyways, sorry for sharing my "worthless" thoughts.
