1 liter water
200 grams sugar
mix well
add 1/2 teaspoon of yeast

there are lots of recipes out there with different CO2 output (bps) and how long the solution last.

Couple of questions,

A) It looks like your CO2 is just run through the airstone(?) and bubbles to the surface?

B) Have you tried or compared the results to setting it up so your bubbles get sucked up the uplift tube of your HOB filter?

C) Any idea what your CO2 saturation is?

I've been running mine so it gets mulched by the HOB but it is a wee bit annoying... so if a good quality airstone is sufficient even if its not quite as good that would be ok because if necessary I can run additional bottles to make up the difference.

I'd always been under the assumption that when people do diy co2 that they spend a few bucks on co2 proof tubing but I have the feeling that lots of folks just use whatever silicone airline tubing they have lying around. If from what I read is true there could be up to a 20% loss of co2 using regular tubing so its really worth it to go ahead and get some.
I too have been keeping some of the more difficult Erios with a Jello DIY setup and a small ceramic diffuser with great results. Just figured I'd point out to not skimp on the tubing!

Forgot to say that the tank looks great mrkookm. No need for a "scape" when you have all the sweet plants. Do you house any fish/shrimp in this tank?
