You should have seen when we had it upside down on the floor and were testing his wiring to see if it worked. 206 watts lights up my living room like an airport runway. We turned off all of the lights just for poops and giggles.....and it was quite interesting.

Even with just the 96 on I can still see everything in my tank clear as day. I hope I'll have some happy plants...

My prediction is that you are going to have some happy plants and some very happy algae. With that amount of light, you shouldn't have any problem growing some low growing foreground plants.

My friend has a similar top on his, just make sure that it does get too hot! One day while my friend was at work, his lights in his fancy top got the wood too hot and it caught FIRE! He was VERY lucky the design of the hood put the fire out itself by suffocation from the smoke, but the whole appartment could have burned down if it didn't. Just a word of warning.

Other than that, it looks beautiful
