with most canisters what limits the out flow is the inflow as they are gravity fed. Yes you can boost the output, but only so much before you overload the motor of what is pushing the return line.
IMO the most important feature of a canister is the capacity of media. slower flow does not hinder the bio feature of a canister. AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A CONSTANT FLOW OF OXIGENATED WATER you are good to go.
