baking powder as CO2 reactor
Hi Guys,
i was told by someone that we can substitute the sugar yeast method by using baking pwder instead. We will just mix the baking powder with water and it will produce CO2 for our tanks already has anyone actually tried this? is it effective too? |

Because this would be a instant chemical reaction (as opposed to a gradual biological one with yeast), I would think that you'd get a lot of CO2 all at once with the baking powder method, then nothing. Whereas with the yeast method you get a longer-lasting supply as the yeast microorganisms slowly eat away at the sugar supply and release CO2 as waste.
