Default Turbo Yeast lives up to it's name! 216bpm

I've been trying out some different yeasts for the DIY mix and the latest is 'ALCOTEC 8 Kg TURBO 5 DAY SUPER YEAST'.

Anyway, I got home tonight to find that a single 2 litre bottle is producing about 216 bubbles per minute. This is 48 hours after I made up the mix. I had a second bottle of champagne yeast mix that is a bit old and is running at around 20 bubbles per minute and the CO2 is at around 60ppm CO2 in a 52 gallon tank.

Mad! I'll be interested in seeing how long it lasts, or if it is just 5 days as in the name. In the mean time, I've unplugged the old champagne yeast bottle, upped the filters and put on an airstone, because some of the fish are looking quite stressed, particularly since the tank is still at 29C because of fighting the last of the ich.

Cheers

Karl.

p.s: mix is:

2 cups sugar
1/2 tea spoon turbo yeast
1/4 tea spoon 'Nutrient' - some salts and stuff
Water to 3 inches from top of 2 litre coke bottle.
