WC tool
Hi
I just want to share a DIY water change tool. Ever get fed up with water changes? Feeling ache while holding those hose when adding or removing water? Wanting to keep dry when doing it? Well I come up with a very very simple set of tool (which resembles a "phyton" perhaps?) to ease the PITA. Here is what it looks like. ![]() It consist of 1/2 inch pipe, some L connectors, a nipple for hose and its adapter to the pipe. Just hook it up to the tank, the other side to a hose and you are done (with a little bit of sucking or some water from the tap). You can set the height to certain level so you can pre set how much of water change you want and it will stop by itself when it is done. Plug the hose into the tap and you have a filling device (but you have to add a baloon valve at the top kink to make it automatic). You have little fish? then add some netting at the front end to prevents debris and fish from getting sucked in. ![]() So simple and easy. No fuss no muss. Get one and build yourself now! *instalation and assembling manual not included

Looks kind of like what I have used for a couple of years now.

Poking holes.. thats a good idea.
Hey that looks so similar. I swear I did not copy it from somewhere, it just pops right out of my mind when I was handling pipe. Now where is my drilling machine?

Rex, which size PVC did you use? I can't tell from the picture. Anyways, I made one of these today that looks like a combination of the two above. I used 3/4 inch PVC because 1/2 just seemed so small. I'll post pictures when the PVC cement dries and it gets used.

As I recall mine are all made from 3/4" PVC. I have one for each tank. And it's sweet as I can set them to drain and I have drilled the topmost hole to make a 50% water change.

This is mine. It's funny, I didn't think anyone else had a "water changing tool". I just screw it on to the end of the hose. I put a ball valve so I can turn the water off and on when filling and can close it when draining water so I can keep the syphon and drain the other tanks too
