DIY chelating agent

I wonder if anyone has try using Acetic Acid (vinegar) to chelate a garden trace element mix? I have tried adding just water. It turns brown in just a few days suggesting that Fe2+ get oxidized quickly.

My worry is that the mixture of vinegar might be poisonous to my fish.
I would prefer EDTA if I have no problem getting EDTA supply in my country.
