Riccia attachement to slate rock *pics*

I recently acquired a glob of riccia from someone. I was thinking long and hard about how I would weight it down(never tried this plant before). Well, after reading countless posts and threads on various boards, I decided that I liked the hairnet/nylong way of securing it. I went to Target after work and looked long and hard for hairnet -- was actually kind of embarrased to ask someone for help. lol. So, instead, I ended up getting the cheapest black nylons they had ($1.00!). When I got home, I cut off about 6-8" of the foot end of one of them and put one of my larger and rounder pieces of slate rock inside. Then I slid the riccia underneath, in between the nylon and rock, making sure I spread it evenly --- perhaps 1/4-1/2" thick -- not too thick! Then I pulled the nylon tight around it and tied it off on the underside of the rock. When I finished, I simply cleared a spot in the tank and pushed the rock down into the substrate a little, to make sure the knot was out of sight. Here are some pics to show you exactly how I did it. Another thing you could use are laundry bags. Can be found in most super market laundry sections. They're basically meshed bags that you throw delicates in to be washed. They're perfect for this purpose. I would think stockings are a little too fine for Riccia... I hope it works out for you.
