Canopy Paint Question

I painted my canopy with exterior latex paint. Can I put sealer over this as well? I don't think it would stick well, but I'd like to add it if it will.

I have mine painted with black flat acrylic paint (should've been semi-gloss). I'll put clear polyurethane over it. It should stick well.
