Thinking about adding some flame moss on top of the rocks. Any thoughts?

    Also thanks for the input.

I've been opening the top every day for a few min. Also have been misting twice a day. I do keep the water just under the substrate exept in one small corner. But the HC is taller in that area and is out of the water. I have not added any ferts yet. The HC seems to be attached to the gravel now and seems to be spreading. The D hairgrass has not changed.

you should make sure you uncover it for a few mins every day just so it gets some air circulation. Also make sure you dont ad too much water.. just enough for under the substrate line.
