Thx for the compliment, I'm kinda newbie for planted tank but what is IN flat?
the filter i'm using is Aqueon QuietFlow 10 Power Filter. I think any kind of filter is fine as long as it's has an enough water flow for all plant.
I think you'll be success with your tank. Without CO2 means less selection of plant, that's why i only choose an easy to grow and hardy plant.

Im waiting for my nano tank Eheim Liberty 130/till 570Lph(150gph)filter.
I find a place for second aqua ...under 400L/100g tank.There is 'pocket' for 10gallon'er.
We together with NBINC (highest rated tank owner) waiting for a Easy-Life fertilizers from Deutshland aquaristikshop.
I hope to create tank as Yours,without co2 but with 4x8W powerfull bio filtering and fertilizers as Easy-Life ProFito.
