Any LFS in CT that sell RCS?

Does anyone know of a LFS in central/southern CT that sell Red Cherry Shrimp?

your best bet is to get them from someone here if you can. They will be a quarter to half the cost.

Personally I will not buy any livestock through personal shipping because I want to see what I am getting first. If I want something special, I will go to any LFS's that I semi-trust and have them get me the order and pick them up the day they are delivered. At least then I see what I am getting and they are shipped by professional's that cover their goods.
Not to say that anyone here cannot do the same and also at a better price but I can see them before buying them and dont have to worry about "rookie mistakes".

Plants are much easier to ship and I have seen this botched badly more times then I care to recall so I wont even bother with livestock.

Buck, which LFS do you recommend?

A few months ago I asked Wet Pets in Vernon if they had then and they still had one left. It was in a tank with fish and they didn’t have a lot of cover so I don’t think they lasted long. I asked if they get them often and he said no but he said they got them from someone in MA. If you call them they might be able to put you in contact with that person or perhaps you could place an order with Wet Pets and pick them up. The one remaining cherry that they had was very red. Their number is 860-875-2794.

If you have any luck please post because I will be setting up a shrimp tank soon and I would like some also and with the weather the way it is I would rather not have to get them shipped.

I dont know where in CT you are Mark but most of the shops in my area suck. The one that is the best at getting the goods on order is Fin & Feather in Groton but I really like the lady at Pachaug Aquarium and Reptiles in Voluntown.
She is nice and does it more out of love then a business. But like all, they gotta make their money. My area sucks for shops... I should open one !

Your about 1hr directly East of me. Have you ever checked out All Pets Club in Wallingford? I know its a good hour away from you, they have a fairly decent stock of fish and plants.

Maybe It might work purchasing them through the Shop n Swap.

On 91 South, take exit 17, merge onto 15 South. Take exit 66 and turn right onto North Colony Rd (route 5). Its about half a mile on the left (half way up hill), just past home depot.

Aquatic Wildlife in Manchester has RCS and really good selection of plants. Each shrimp is like $5 the last time I checked though....but the plants are really cheap IMO

Just joined this forum. I wanted to also let you know that I'm going to be setting up 2 shrimp tanks. I would more than happily be willing to ship some over to you guys in the coming months once I get them breeding and such.
