Hey all, anyone know if D & G's pets carries plants? I heard from a buddy that it is a decent p[lace but he is in to salt water so did not really know about the plant aspect.

Thanks,

They never used to have live plants, but last time I was in they had a handful of varieties under woefully inadequate lighting (and presumably no CO2). A couple ludwigia species, r. wallichii (I think), some java fern and crypts. Nothing outstanding.

In terms of fish, they've always got some decent selection, though they never seem to have the more interesting fish I'm interested in - sidthimunki loaches, for example, or any dwarf cichlid. They do have some nice looking large cichlids, if that's what turns your knobs, and are very friendly and seem more knowledgeable than not.

Your mileage might vary, but I'd say they're definitely worth a look-see if you're coming down I-25.

Plant selection is woefully poor (or non-existant) from everything I have ever seen.

Talking Coming Soon

From talking with the owner, Gary (the "G" of D & G), the live plants are coming. They are working to clear a bunch of tanks in the fish room to make room for a large display tank and then tanks to sell the plants from. They just got a few plants in this week. Nothing special... but its a start. Plants looked pretty good and prices were not bad. I can not wait to see what the future holds.

Default Hello all

I just ran across this posted, and as a employee at D&G wanted to fire off a quick response. I hope this is OK, I know posts from stores, etc are sometimes not allowed on forums, and if that is the case, I apologize in advance.

We are in the process of ramping up to selling Live Plants, currently we are waiting on a stand and canopy for the display system and planted tank racks. If you've been in and seen what we have for sale now, it is just the tip of the iceburg.

In fact, almost all of it is trimmings from employee tanks because we were too excited and didn't want to wait for the real systems to be completed! We haven't even officially ordered any plants yet. When we are all setup, expect to see big things!

Also, if anyone is interested in buying a rack of 9x 10 gallon tanks with all corresponding equipment, PM me.

Thank you all for the interest and enthusiasm!
