Hello!

I must say, I'm shocked and thrilled to find Coloradoans concentrated in one spot for conversation. That's pretty exciting.

Hi everyone, I'm Jessica in Thornton and am new to this forum.
I was in this hobby very deeply a few years back; worked at South Broadway Tropicals for about a year as a teenager (I'm interested in hearing everyone's perspective on that store) and just recently got back into the hobby.

I currently have a 125g planted that is in the midst of settling and cycling. It's been a slow process getting it set up, but I'm working on it

It's nice to meet you all.

Welcome to the forums, Jessica. As mentioned above, please check out the CAS meeting tonight as it is always great to meet the locals in person and there will be a variety of plants at the auction. Hope to see you tonight.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

I will not be able to make it tonight because I am preparing for finals. However, I will make an effort to attend future meetings! It's good to see that everyone is closely involved. Maybe you guys will have some secrets to share!

welcome!! You asked for perspectives on south broadway tropicals just thought I would give you mine. The first and last time I went there the person working (older guy with grayish hair) I assume the owner didn't say 2 words to use while we were there and never asked us if he could get us anything. I walked around looking at the tanks for atleast 30mins. Also very poor selection probably had 100+ oscars in a dozen tanks scattered all over. Tanks were dirty. Not impressed at all. especially since I drove 90 miles.

Wow dodgefreak... sorry to hear that. When I was there, we had a pretty decent selection of oddballs and rare fish. Myself and another lady were always doing water changes. I'm sad to hear that it's taken such a turn. I think the man you're describing is the owner and I was never a big fan of him myself either. I haven't been back there in about 5 years and probably never will go back because of some very bad sexual harassment that I experienced from one of the other employees, which the owner never batted an eye at.

Too bad to hear that it has turned into such a disappointment. Oh well.
