Default Going to be moving to Denver soon...

Im going to tear down my tanks and im not sure if I will be bringing them with me or not. Should I move them or should I buy a new tank when I get there? Right now I only have a 20 and a 29 gallon tank... so its not a big deal if I have to get another one.. I had kinad hoped on getting something like a 55 gallon or a 60 gal .. i donno, but is there places where you can get those sized tanks cheap? what about plants? what about cherry shrimp?

Thx

Let me give you an advanced welcome on your upcomming move to Colorado. I have red cherry shrimp for you once you get set up out here. As far as plants, I have yet to find anyplace here in the metro area that I wanted to spend my money for plants. I have purchased and traded for my plants from fellow hobbiest in the area and online. I feel the best shop for fish and plants is in Fort Collins: Denizen's of the Deep. Certainly worth the drive up there. I haven't purchased tanks in a number of years, so no advice on where to find them inexpensively. Shoot me a pm once you are here.

Since you live in MD I would strongly advise you either bring your tanks or at least your equipment for your tanks as the price of dry goods here is crazy compared to over there. I use to live PA and I would come dowm to Baltimore and get fish as they selection and quality of the fish were worth the drive for me. When you get here like spdskr said hit both of us up as we trade with each other as well. There is one place called Premier Fish and Reef that is now a distributor of glasscages.com tanks and the prices are the same plus freight so you can either order through them or get it yourself but I doubt you would save getting it yourself as I am sure the freight is discounted for them since they get a truck at a time. There isn't any stores with plants worth buying that I have found anyways.

Good luck with your move and let me know what you are looking for and I can see what I can do. spdskr and I are both members of the local aquarium society as well and you are more than welcome to come to a meeting sometime and see if it interests you.

Hey there... Welcome to the Denver area.

We moved all our tanks (way too many) from Georgia to Bailey (about an hour from Denver) and now into Denver Metro area (Aurora).

We moved ourselves, and packed them in boxes and wraped blankets around them, and made both moves without a single crack. We even moved about 30 fish, and we only lost the largest 5 angels. Are you going to try to move your fish and plants too?
