Attention to everyone in the Front Range . If you haven't been to Denizen's of the Deep in Fort Collins, get on up there this weekend. As of yesterday they had just received a huge shipment of plants (mostly stems) and they all looked to be in nice shape. If you have never visited the store, its worth the drive. Makes me wish I still lived up there.

You know, though, their stock doesn't seem to fare very well anymore. The plants look great the first week or so, then slowly deteriorate... until the next shipment. Not characteristic of their past, from my experience.
I think they've changed some employees/managers in the past year or so - they ended up tearing down one of their huge (200-300 gallons, probably) planted showcase tanks because of a crazy algae infestation... something I hadn't seen in the three previous years I'd been in town. Overall, excellent store. I'm lucky it's right down the street. G |

The guy that ran the store since the late 80's retired a few years ago, and things started deteriorating as far as plant and fish quality. He came out of retirement for about 10 months in 2005 and things looked better, but I fear he opted to retire again. Still a better selection of plants and fish than any of the stores down south where I live now.
