I'm pretty low tech and don't keep tabs on things like I ought, but when I moved to Fremont a year and a half ago, my tap water pH was 7.4 and now it's 8.0. No idea how localized the issue is but I would have gotten different fish had it been this high earlier...
Anyway, has anyone else noticed fluctuating pH? Long shot but doesn't hurt to ask... |

You can usually download water quality reports from your district.
Although in my area they run a year behind. So I call them quarterly for the latest testing results nearest my residence. I have found that PH is not much of an issue with most freshwater fish. In your case a 6point difference is not much. My tap water varies from 8.0 to 8.8. w/a KH of 8-10d. It never seems to stay stable for more than a few months. |

It's been so long since I've checked my pH. But I do know that in the past there have been seasonal fluctuations in the KH levels...higher in the summer and lower in the winter.
I think Fremont gets water from multiple sources depending on what part of the city you live in. I'm in the north end, near Decoto Rd and Fremont Bl. |
