No problem, would be glad to do that. I visit AW about once a week, but I can write down a list of livestock/plants for you if you tell me when you're coming down.
Amazing place, love it as much as I do AAF. Now, if they would just start carrying ADA...

Default didn't see any ada stuff

Hi guys I stopped by this past week and they do have a great selection of fish but I didn't see any ADA stuff. Being from Hawaii I was hoping to p/u some stuff to take back home. I'm in Long Beach while one of our airplanes get repaired at Gulfstream. I did however find another store call Strictly Fish which had some awesome stuff.

Strictly fish has a lot of cichlids and decent salt water. The plants are rather limited and their planted accessories or not the best. I actually haven't been there in a little while so maybe they have improved.

All about fish must have sold out of all their tanks and substrates. Thats really the only ADA products I have seen there.

Last time I was there they still had the 90cm ADA Tank setup that you can atleast look at too see an ADA tank in person.

There's a Strictly Fish in Lakewood. Is there also one in Garden Grove? Which on is better?

I think there's a Fish, Etc in Hacienda, though I've never been myself. I should really take a visit, especially since it's so close. I'll update on how it is when I do visit; if anyone has been already, do tell.

I was talking with one of the employees and he told me Strictly Fish in Garden Grove closed. Lots of saltwater stuff, but coming from Hawaii it's really great store.

All About Fish is BY FAR The best Planted hobby store in the SOCAL area. Kirt is a smart dude, and he knows and wants to promote planted hobby to everyone. He works with SCAPE and offers ANY SCAPE members 10% discount by showing the membership card. He's also hosted a meet, and is about to host another one in August.

In a few days, he's going to start carrying a much larger selection of ADA products. I personally created a list for him of items that are "must have's" and I know that the order was placed for a wide variety of products he's never had. So check back with him.

Kirt, unlike many (or most?) store owners, is someone who takes suggestions, sees their importance and works with his customers to promote the hobby. That in my book is the most important thing, and that is the reason Socal hobbyists NEED to patron that store. We need better stores, and it all starts with owners, which means it all starts with All About Fish.

Long Beach isn't that far from Huntington Beach. I go there for business a few times a year. I'm actually in Texas most of the time.

I see someone posted the address
All About Fish - more info »
2535 E Broadway, Long Beach, CA
(562) 438-4148 - close call

is that still correct?
What is the store's hours? Are they open weekday evenings? Weekends? It might be worth staying over fri even if they are open sat.
