Shrimp around the bay

I?fm having a hard time finding any small freshwater shrimp other than amanos and ghost around SF. Wondering if anyone one can add to my small list of shops around the bay area that usually carries shrimp.

This is what I got so far

Fish for You
San Mateo
(Cherry Shrimp)

Albany Aquarium
Albany
(Cherry Shrimp)

The Octopus's Garden
Berkeley
(Cherry Shrimp, Rainbow Shrimp)

Thanks

This is where I picked up my last round of amanos. FYI if you buy a bunch they will give you a bulk discount on the buggers. They also have several different types in stock most of the time. They are not open on Monday's.

All About Fish in Concord has amanos for $2 a piece, and on Sundays they have their fish sale. 20% off the first fish, 30% off the second and 40% off the third. (I think that’s how it goes.)

Here's their address

102 2nd Ave S
Pleasant Hill, CA 94523

When you are going down Contra Costa Blvd you'll see a Kragen's Auto Parts and All About Fish is tucked away behind it in the corner.

Anyone know if there is a place in the bay that sells crystal red shrimp?

I have never seen anyone carry crystal red shrimp. I would likes some though.

Well I just stopped over at The Octopus's Garden in Berkeley. They had some bumblebee shrimp and rainbows until I bought them all.

They still got cherry reds and amanos in stock, though.

The bumblebee shrimp were 3 for $10. They only had 13 and I have to give 6 away to my friend.

The rainbows were $2.39 each but they only had 3.

Sorry about that. Considering the great variety of options in shrimp we usually have to choose from in the bay I decided to grab as much as I could. I figured I might not get an opportunity like this again.

Looking at them though I would have to say only a couple of them actually look like bumblebee shrimp. The rest look like some kind of tiger shrimp cross breed.

Octopus Garden gets them in pretty regularly. I bought my first batch of cherries from them, when they weren't as well known - 8 for $15. Nowadays, that'll be a steal. I can't even pick them up for that price nowadays and have to pay $3 per. As for crystal reds, there's a breeder in the area and places them on Aquabid every once in awhile. I believe that's where Shalu got his.

Hey Ibn can you clarify something for me, Octopus Garden usually gets which shrimp in, the cherrys, bumblebees or the crystal reds? It would be good to know if I can get more bumblebees because one of them already died on me.

Make that two that have died now!
