LOL...it seems we have a lot in common...my 10gal is now crystal clear, warm, & the plants are thriving..but I *only* have about 5 pounds of gravel! If it's not one thing, it's another...but ANYWAYS, WalMart, Atleast, my Walmart(s) sell inert black gravel that'd be just fine for your 20[it'd be visually appealing mixed in the Eco-Complete...as that's the substrate I have in my 10 & love]...just wash it up, take everything [except the fish, water, and gravel] out, add the new gravel, and gravel vac to mix it all up..then, of course put everything back in...
I've decided sine I only have 2 fish & 2 shrimp [UGH!! It's killing me!!], I might as well just do the entire change but you have more it seems, so it might be more difficult...and easier to just mix it in like I described.
