FW Circ Pump

So I recently got into the hobby. I did what every forum told me not to with my first tank and I went and got dirty. Basically, everything is going good. Got her planted up, and stocked.

90 gallon tank
Fluval 406
6 zebra danios
2 purple passion danios (waiting for my LFS to bring more in) (they seem happy)
6 emerald eye rasboras
6 blue stripe rasboras
2 Siamese algae eaters

They all seem happy and as I was walking by one day, I noticed they were moving in and out of my filters water movement on the outtake. So I assumed they likes the water movement.

I went and purchased a little 240 gph circ pump and set up up near the top. The fish have been playing in the water flow for a while now. They so not seem disappointed. My question is, as it's just recreational, should I turn it off at night? Or leave it going. It's cheap as it wasn't needed to circulate water, so it doesn't have a lower setting.

Tank doesn't need a circ pump, but I was wondering if I should turn mine off at night.

I also have a 90 gal planted tank, and like you I have installed a small powerhead near the top of the tank.

Further down, toward the bottom, I installed a small JBL wavemaker system. See it here (offsite) - http://www.marinedepot.com/JBJ_Ocean...FIPHFF-vi.html

With the alternating flow, you don't tend to get dead spots and dirt accumulation points in the tank. I also move them around a bit, so most places in the tank get some good flow once and awhile. This goes a long way to keeping dirt down, and the price of them isn't too bad.

BTW I let all the pumps run all the time.
