Black Silicone Edges, Glass Aquariums ... Anyone?

Just curious if any of you have this type of aquarium? Have any pictures?

My Oceanic 30 gallon has black silicone joints, I'll post a picture later for you, but I don't think it looks bad at all, it really just seems to frame the view is offline

I personally like the look of the black silicone tanks and wish that companies would use it in more models (not all tank sizes are available with BS.) If I get a contract that I'm working on then I'm going to see if All-Glass will do a custom order for a 50g breeder tank with BS. I thin it just frames the view better, making it look like a photo of a beautiful underwater scene.

I think especially when the room is darkened it really sets it off, you don't have those wierd glowing edges, just a sharp crisp line so your attention is focused on the scene and not the tank itself. is offline

Those pure methylene blue and malachite green medications also permanently stain the clear silicone. So that's another plus for the black one.

Its called Eurobracing, I think. Check out Daimond edged tanks. That is where no silicone can be seen on the joints. Amanos Cube Gardens are constructed this way.

Euro bracing is an approx. 3 wide strip of glass that runs all around the perimeter of the tank. It gives you complete & free access to the inside of your tank without any cross braces. This is also a favored option for those optimizing on the light penetration into their tank. This bracing can also be polished for a very refined look. In very large tank applications, euro bracing is tempered.
