I'm doing a dry run setup of a 75 gallon tank. The directions that came with the AB/1000 show the reactor mounted in a vertical position. It would fit much better under my tank stand if it could be mounted horizontaly. Can this be mounted this way without any major problems or does it have to be vertical?

It really has to be mounted vertically to allow co2 to rise within the reactor and dissolve before it gets expelled out of the other endof the reactor. Mounting it horizontally would defeat this purpose with the end result being undissolved co2 escaping into the tank and bubbling up to the surface.

Sorry to jump in on this so late! I am beginning to assemble the equipment I think I will be needing to set up a 75G planted aquarium. I was considering using the AB1000 reactor on the return end of an Eheim Professional 2126. Are you running it off of a powerhead or is it tied into the return on your xp3 cannister? Which would you recommend?

I have it connected to the canister output hose of the xp3 so that filtered water is going thru the reactor.
The 2126 flows plenty for the reactor, no need to add a powerhead to the tank.
