Hi, I did think of that, but the first thing that came to my mind is that I'm kinda fat and getting unwieldy in my middle age, so I'm not hot on the idea. But the big problem I see with that is what someone mentioned on another forum for the reason they
didn't like using a step-ladder: they want to see what they're trimming from the side of the tank, not from the top. I'd have to agree that from experience, I have to have my head down to look, which is why I did my measuring for needed scissors and forceps lengths by standing on the floor next to the tank and having only my elbow resting on the top rim.
I did find a place selling Friscer 38cm/15" curved scissors in Canada for $36 with s/h, but when I ordered, they were out of stock. J&L in Canada supposedly has them in stock, but they're $53.25 total with shipping!!!
I could get that price shipping from Europe.
I think I might just go with the 24" ones from Blue Lake Products, and then I can get an 18" hemostat from them at the same time. But I likely won't be doing that until springtime in New England (can't ship plants in winter, and LFSs have DOO-DOO for plant stock,) so I'll still be looking for 38cm/15" curved scissors!
