For a canister, check out Finnex PX-360 and ZooMed 501.

I have had success with a Zoo Med 501 on that sized tank but I really think it's too small for 10 gallon. It looks like the 511 has double the flow rate which would be much more acceptable for a tank that size. I love my little 501, don't get me wrong, and would try a 511 if I needed a bigger filter.

An Eheim 2213 works great on a 10 gallon. I use one with Lilly pipes and an inline diffuser from GLA. Add an 18" Ray II with your CO2 and you'll need to trim the tank every week (growth is out of control).

AC 20 is working extremely well with my tank and if you have DIY co2 it does a grey job of cutting up the bubbles if you out the outtake into the filter

20 gallon sump.

Just kidding . AC 30 for an HOB, for a canister keep in mind where you to place it. I think the mini canisters mentioned need to be at the 'table level of the tank. If you want it under the tank in a stand you'll need a Fluval 206 or the small Ehiem (there are other brands too), they have the power to lift the water that high

I would actually take a Eheim 2213 or even a 2211 over a Zoo Med, even though I like mine. I should have stated in my post. I would probably choose a 2213 due to tubing size (I think it's 12/16) which will allow you to keep things like any inline equipment or lily pipes if you upgrade to a 2215 or many of the Ecco's.

I actually tried a 2234 on my 6 gallon which is way to big. Throttled down most of the way, it could have actually worked. Just didn't fit my stand.

cant go wrong with Aquaclear (a 20 or 30 would be awesome). I have also been playing with the Aqueon Quiet Flow filters... and DAMN they are nice, less space for media than the Aquaclear, but it runs so freaking quiet the only way i know it is working is the water movement.
