I'm beginning to plan my tank for next year, and I've limited my choices to either a plant-only tank or a shrimp tank, if allowed in the dorm. Either way, CO2 will be involved and I can only fit a paintball tank. So I have to figure out which regulator I'll use. My options are:
Aquatek Mini Regulator
Pro: Cheapest
Con: also might not be as good quality
Archaea Regulator Single Gauge
Pro: Small
Con: Only one gauge, no way to know output besides drop checker
Archaea Regulator Pro
Pro: Dual gauges
Cons: Expensive and might be top heavy
Any others to recommend? Except the GLA one, that's too expensive for me.
I just got my Aquatek today from Amazon and I have to say I'm impressed with its construction and ease of use. The unit feels solid and it is easy to set up and adjust.
I have one Aquatek and one GLA. The Aquatek has been running 7 months with zero issues. The GLA had a minor noise issue that was quickly fixed with their help.
Although the GLA Atomic regulator is a little more expensive, you get what you pay for. I love my atomic v2 paintball regulator. I have nothing but good things to say about it and have never had a single issue from it.
