Hey all.

I'm thinking of starting a 30 gal planted tank, and i would like to know how large the bottle i make my yeast mix in should be?? I know a overdosis will harm the fish.

It really depends on the plants you want to keep. I would try a 2 liter first and see how it goes. Depending on your plant and the CO2 levels, you may or may not want to get a 1 gallon jug instead... It is up to you.

I have a 2 litre bottle on my 42gal hex tank and its doing a good job. I only have about 1.5 watts/gal for lighting too. I don't know how to explain it but even the amazon sword is doing well in there, not to mention that I also have Rotala Wallichi holding its own in there. Look over the whole site here... you'll find DIY information showing you how to do it. :hehe:

I don't have a digital camera, but as soon as I get one, I'll get a pic up.

I don't think you need to worry about that with DIY. It won't produce enough to be dangerous. :hehe:

I have been thinking of pressurised Co2. Is that neccesary?? It's EXPENSIVE, and i'm only 12. Not a good mix
But it is soon christmas

Would you guys recommend it??

That sounds like very sound reasoning! I've read some impressive reports on that setup - all good. That route should give you a feel for if more is really needed. Good luck with your tank. :hehe:

ridns, i suppose you talking to me?? I saw it for like 30$ at my "favorite" shop. Some danish pet shop, called ZooCity. I hate the way they treat their fish. When they do water change, they just come un- prepared water in their tanks. They are not using any de-clorinator, or something like that. But i only buy equipment there...
