One more quick question if I may.

Do you use regular Teflon tape on the fitting threads? I know to ensure not to cover any of the openings with the tape or tape fragments.

Allllllllrighty then. Does this look about right folks?

Yes, teflon tape will work fine. You can also use pipe compound (pipe dope) if you have that handy. Some people prefer one over the other because they find one easier to work with than the other, but they accomplish the same function.

Does anyone know of a local hardware store (Bay Area) that carries these fittings?

Do you have an ace hardware near by? They should have them.

I have that solenoid myself - and yes - OBEY THE A & B! A is in, B is out, and it's important! As it turns out, this mandatory directionality totally screwed up how I had envisioned assembling it but it turned out OK.

I got all my connecting pieces at Ace Hardware... though you may fare better at a big box store (Lowes, Home Depot, Menards) for their bigger selection - might save you some money and space instead of having to go through so many adapters to get where you're going.

I checked with a local Home Depot and they didn't carry 1/4 or 1/8 fittings. Ace Hardware is my next stop.

wow! well color me surprised. I guess I went to the right place first for once!

just remember, you want NPT threads - sometimes also listed as FNPT and MNPT for female/male connections. may also be listed as FPT/MPT. (you do not want straight threads, or NPTF.)

and lastly, be sure to use teflon tape.

post a pic when you're done! good luck!

All the fittings arrived yesterday. Hope none of them are/were NPTF. I'll have to go back to double check.

I'll be getting some teflon tape this afternoon and start assembly.

Now the question is what goes where?

It will be like a fun puzzle to put together.

If you require help, just post a photograph with your parts and whatever question you have, and I am sure someone will be able to help you out.
