Aquatop cube 10" - what is this piece for?

my cube just came in today. With it came a black mat that does not quite fit inside the cube... I bought the tank off of truaqua.

Anyone know what this mat is for?

Mat is to put under the tank. All rimless tanks need a mat under them. Enjoy the tank

to keep from cracking. Rimmed tanks place all the stress along the edges of the glass and the plastic rim, which also holds the glass off the stand. A rimless tank sits completely flush on the stand, and any irregularities or debris under it will focus all the stress in that area. This is why people invented mattresses to sleep on, instead of the cold hard ground.

Hopefully nobody cares that I inquire here, but I have two questions..

Did the mat automatically come with it?

And does it have to be a soft squishy mat or can it be something else?

I had no clue it wouldn't work without a mat. Crud lol. I just ordered an AquaTop, and within 6 months, I'll have an ADA too.

I had spoken to aquatop prior, the mats are supposed to come standard with the tank.

Unless they changed something in the plans when I had spoken to them, the mat was supposed to be part of it when it shipped.

Makes a lot of sense really
